BBC dipstick
I have a big block with a stock pan
It came with a dipstick but seems like the hole in the side of the pan is much bigger than the end of the dipstick am I missing a part or is it wrong? Pics of the correct dipstick would be cool. Thanks Steve |

Re: BBC dipstick
There’s an o-ring that seals it and takes up the slack.
Sorry no pic, it’s been a while since I’ve owned a BBC

Re: BBC dipstick
the hole in the pan is larger for the Oring mentioned and also so you can wiggle it in there through the exhaust manifold to get it seated

Re: BBC dipstick
You may be able to buy that "O" ring from a parts store. They might be able to look it up, maybe not. Call and ask. If not take the dipstick and buy one or more "O" rings that have that I.D. dimension. The thicker the "O" ring, the bigger the O.D. dimension will be...
