Preserving an original/survivor truck
I did not see a specific thread on preserving an original truck and was interested in getting some opinions and ideas. Starting with the floor mat and floorboard insulation, would you leave it all intact or put something else down? The original floor mat has a couple tears. Would you put it back in or replace it. The seat is nice condition but the fabric is getting old and brittle. I was thinking of having an old style clear cover made to preserve it. What would be your thoughts be on that?
What would you do?

Re: Preserving an original/survivor truck
Well if I was you... I would absolutely keep the floor mat. And I would leave the padding underneath as-is, it can be a pain sometimes to pull up. I have "refreshed" a few of these, and they can turn out really good. I posted some info in post #17 in the thread below.
I'll follow along to see what others say about the seat. That thing is amazing. I like your idea of putting a clear plastic over it, like some did back in the day. Maybe a professional can do something to make it less brittle after cleaning? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=770878
