ignition switch part number
I have a NOS key start switch in box, Part No. 1116537 on box, just 537 on switch. Ecklers/Classic has lock cylinders but I don't know if my switch is for a passenger car or truck (different cylinder part numbers). It fits in my 57 3100 so it doesn't matter to me but I want to buy the correct cylinder. BTW the cylinder from the stomp switch doesn't fit. No surprise there. I would appreciate any help.
As many of you know installation of a AOD eliminates stomp switch. |

Re: ignition switch part number
I found a part number of 1116522 for the switch. It appears to be for the 6 cylinder given the background viewing info in the factory assembly manual but maybe not as it's not too clear. Yes, the 6 and V8's are different as you don't have the "start" location in the switch - in the 6 cylinder one you just have the "on". I have one of those original 6 cylinder switches from when my truck had a 6 in it. I'd go by what you find on the online catalogs like you found.

Re: ignition switch part number
Mr. 48 thank you. That is the switch I have. Now I can order the proper cylinder.
Re: switch #522 that is the switch I took out. I was going to use a push button with it but either the switch or the cylinder is bad. |

Re: ignition switch part number
I used a lock cylinder and switch from Danchuck. It wasn't the cheapest available but I don't like to cheap out on such a critical part in the electrical and ignition system.
