Got two big accomplishments done
Well I finally got some major miles stones done.
1) I now have a rolling chassis!! 2) I came up with a name for my truck "Snowball" The reason is it started out as take the sheet metal off for painting. But Resulting in: -Finding out the frame was tweeked. So I replaced the '67 with a '71 -Converting it to a SWB -Relocating the gas tank to the rear -Converting the rear axle to five lug -Converting the rear to disc brake -Adding front and rear anti-sway bars -Blasting the frame and painting it -Replacing all the suspension components So as you can see the name fits. Now I just need to get the passenger door cleaned up. The bottom inside corners are rotted out, had at least three different mirrors on it and it took a hit in it. After dealing with repro parts I'd rather put the time in fixing the door than fighting with a repro parts. |

Re: Got two big accomplishments done
"Snowball" would be a fitting name for a lot of these trucks, including mine.
Looks like your project is off to a great start!

Will do Sheepdip. One thing I forgot to mention is I also relocated the battery box to the passenger frame rail behind the cab. Didn.t cost me anything as I modified the factory one to work.

Perfect Name!
Where did you get the rear sway bar, and does it make much difference? Years ago I put the one on the front, and it was a huge improvement |

Re: Got two big accomplishments done
Thanks guys. This project has really started to roll along now that all the rust work is done. I even did a spray out of my exterior paint, Pantone 331. Its on the order of seafoam green but a shade or two lighter. Interior will be distressed saddle and the glass is grey tinted.
As for the rear sway bar its from Classic Car Products. Its 1-1/8" in diameter and the part number is CCP7401 (Summit Racing. As for how well it helps handling that answer will be in six months to a year from now. |
