59 4x4 Panel upgrade
I've had my 59 1 ton since 79. put the running gear off a 73 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban under her in 98. North of 750,000 miles. I've done construction from Austin to Fairbanks. I'm nearing retirement and I'm ready to start taking her to the next level for off road camping. Power steering is in process right now (I'm getting too old to palm the wheel). I'll be asking a lot of questions about the tech and aftermarket upgrades.

Welcome! That’s a great looking panel! Ask all the questions you’ve got, we can figure it out together. I look forward to seeing to come together for you.

Re: 59 4x4 Panel upgrade
Totally badass panel truck. So much room inside as far as camping goes. If you've been manhandling that truck without power steering this long you've got to have forearms like Popeye.
I've got a soft spot for this generation of trucks since restored a '59 Double deluxe truck at the dealership I work at. The only thing that could have made our truck cooler is if it was a NAPCO truck. But Panel trucks are rare for sure. Being work trucks they lived a hard life and usually got beat to death. Giving this one another life to get to great spots camping is perfect. Given what people have been doing with vans lately for full time and part time overland type travel, this could do all the same with a level of style that none of the van-lifers could touch. I'd look at some of the build outs of vans for ideas about prepping the inside for more comfort.
