Window wont stay up

I am having an issue with my passenger side window.

The window can be rolled up and down with no issues, but the problem is that by applying pressure on the glass with my hands, it can be pushed up or down from either inside or outside of the cab. I guess it's not a bad thing if I ever lock my keys in by accident.

Do I need to replace the entire regulator, or is there a particular part that can be fixed?

Following. Mine falls down a little over every bump until it's get down a few inches and then stays there. I haven't had time to take the door apart yet.

Brothers used to sell a window crank hub kit that was just the control hub [the thing the handle snaps onto] and gears. You had to rivet the unit back on your old regulator [with fresh plastic rollers, too]. They were cheaper than whole window regulators.
LH, + RH, and 67-71, and '72-only.
Tensioning the wind-up spring made them fiddly. Not sure if they're still available.
I wound up buying new whole regulators from GMC Paul, and used those. Can't say honestly how well they work. But I'll keep them for another project.

For security reasons, I would replace the regulators ASAP. A cartheif just putting his jimmy-stick on your window channel would be pleasantly surprized. Easy score.
Brothers, and Car and Truck Shops are both in SoCal, so may be fastest shipping. GMC Paul's are never a question of quality, but I ordered on Sunday night or Monday, and got my parts Friday afternoon. They are in Indiana.

Brothers have 71 regulators in stock. 68/71 are out of stock. Their price is 39.99 so that is probably pretty close to the going price from any of the regular truck trinket shops.

Thanks for all the replies.
Luckily my truck is locked away in my garage. But parking it outside gives me anxiety, knowing the window doesn't even stay up. I guess the best thing to do will be to just replace the whole assembly.
In the meantime im going to do wash my blue pill down while doing a 12 oz curl.

Having lots of old vehicles with roll up windows I've found that with the window all the way up it's best to put the window crank on at the 4 o'clock position and that seems to keep it from coming back down.

You might want to replace the window track felt that runs from the top of your wind wing to down inside the door on your window track also. That has some resistance to it by design to keep everything from rattling, and if your window goes down that easy it's probably worn pretty good.

Besides your going to have the whole shebang apart anyway... so why not.

Thanks for the link. It's says that the manufacturer is UPI, does anyone have any experience with this brand?
