Well I decided to repair the rust in the lower section of the driver's side door. That was the only problem with the door, so I figured what the heck!! Good practice with cutting, fitting and the use of my welder. What do you think? I still have a little finnish work to do but I thought it turned out all right...

I first had to cut out the bad area, and then aply "Rust Mort" to stop any rust left in the work areas.

Some left over floor patch panel worked well for me to cut patches out of.

I used a magnetic bullet level to hold the patch flush with the surface... Any magnet would have done, that was just what I had handy... Worked pretty good I thought!!

And finally the other end. I still have some finish work to do, but they are repaired. Hopefully now the rust wont come back for a long, long time... Not too bad for a self tought body dude... Hehehe... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Nice work

I hope to teach myself (with the aid of some books and a Mig welder) to do bodywork.....with bodyshops charging $60 an hour to spread Bondo, i think it is the only way to go.

Well I have to agree, I hate rust also. However I like to do the welding, and to see just how close I can get to the fillerless repairs. That is realy where I realy need help, is in the finnish work... Well ok, just about everywhere, but more so in the finnishing.. Hahaha!! Thanks for the compliments guys.
