Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Okay decided to lower my truck 2 1/2 in front and 4 inches in back so keep that in mind when you choose. I am also going to change up the P01's to either 15 inch Rallys or 17 inch Torque Thrusts and thats what the Poll is for. I keep flip-flopping back and forth on which way to go so thought I'd ask opinions on here. I'm pretty sure the all white with the torque thrusts and the bronze/white truck with the rallys both have the drop I'm looking for. I have both sets of rims already so its not a matter of cost at this point. Thanks for looking and your opinion.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Since you're lowering it, I vote torque thrusts.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
I've never been a big fan of the truck rallies, I prefer the car style with skinny rings and a flat/smooth center cap.
That said, I vote for torque thrusts in this case.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Torque thrusts! Just a darn cool traditional wheel for hot rods of any flavor.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
I like both. Maybe That understated style of Torque thrusts this time though.
For me correct wheel choice means your eye never goes directly to the wheels without taking in the whole truck as a unit. With those two choices even though you had us looking for the wheels we saw complete truck then picked up on the wheels. Well done either way.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
On your truck with stock color and all the trim I vote rallyes. Rallyes state "classy". You can never go wrong with them. Nothing traditional about 17" rims. If you do go with Torque Thrusts, why not 15"? I also wouldn't get the dark spokes for that truck with that look. Either polished or burnished natural. Personally, I think your truck lowered with the PO1s and narrow whitewalls would be the best look. For rallyes, maybe consider painting them Dark Olive. I think that would be a great unique and subtle custom touch. Take advantage of that small sampling of Dark Olive on the top and build off of the fairly rare two-tone combination. Balance it out better

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Of the choices I prefer the rally's. Look good on a lot of classics. Never been a fan of the Torque Thrust's. Though many may say the same thing about the slot mags I am using on my truck. You should use what you prefer.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
The reason I say rallyes is because they are right for that truck. I really like Torque Thrusts, but they are only right for a hot rod truck. At least a truck with custom dual exhaust with a throaty tone. This truck is a "classy chassis" vibe, not "go fast" or "customized". Rallyes are a nice subtle "Hybrid Chevy" look that keeps the truck looking "stockish". I think 70CST's truck looked better with rallyes than the mags he put on it, personally, and both trucks are very similar
I like that richer grey. I restored a big/little set last year. I like the 88-98 centers for being smooth and sitting back into the wheel more, giving the wheel a deeper look. I considered going darker but ended up using original argent

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
It's going to be dropped 2.5" - 4" so it's not bone-stock 100% original anyway. My vote is for 17" Torque Thrusts.
I don't like huge-diameter wheels (on anything!) but 15s just look too tiny anymore; I think the 17s are just right, and Torque Thrusts have a timeless understated good look.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
I really like the Rallyes that came with my C10 and I would only go back to the original P01s (if I could even find a good set of blue bow covers). To me the others just don't seem to fit the feel of these trucks but then again I'm a stock kind of a guy.
Heck I'm still torn buying/going LED lights/markers/etc since I dislike the "dotted lights" effect like we see on the truck that is similar to mine on post #1 (but I want the truck to be *clearly* seen and stopping - especially at night).

I like the way the white truck looks. If you lower your truck, how do you plan to do it? I have been thinking about doing my truck also.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Dropping specs as follows. New stock height coil springs in front with a 2 1/2 dropped spindle. Out back 4 inch dropped spring with shock relocators , adjustable panhard bar and new spring cups too. Not drop related but everythig together will make for a great suspension and what I mean is I have a 1 1/4 inch front sway bar and a Rear Hellwig 7/8 inch rear sway bar. Some folks will say you don't need shock relocators and others will say you should do a C-Notch with a 4 inch drop. There are multipole ways to do things and do whats best for you and make a plan and go for it.

Don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. I’d prefer the rallies though.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Seeing Early Classic Enterprises is now defunct, seems like Holley bought them out, I am going to use McGaughys parts for lowering. Summitt Racing has them and free shipping to the Great White North with minimum purchase of 299.00..

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Not a big fan of rallys, (seemed nearly every 6772 truck i owned had them at least once), but,..one bonus is you can run the PO1's one the rally rim, when bored, flip caps and rings!

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Yep, I know that because the rims on my truck now, in the pic up top, are the rallys ( 15 X 7 ) and were powder coated white when I bought them which was perfect to use with the P01's as the piece of the rim showing is white so looks like it did from factory. I wanted the 15 x 7 rims to make the 235/75 15 tires pop a touch more than they did with the stock 15 x 6 rims.

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Greg, I didn't vote because I'm lodging a silent protest against lowering or mags
BUT, if you must... I'm gonna make your choice harder by adding two more choices you may want to consider, both of which are timeless hot rod wheels. Period slots or Cragar s/s. Just can't go wrong - and Cragar s/s use to be very common - and still never went out of style, but they are seldom seen today (and keep in mind, I'm talkin' original 15" cragar s/s, not the newer 17" style that looks "not quite right"). Classic wheels for a classic truck. I don't think you'll be dissatisfied with any of your now 4(!) choices. Wait, make that 5(!) choices if you include steelies with PO1s... the least expensive option. Maybe splurge for a set of skinny whitewalls, oh man.... Ha. Your truck is gonna look awesome no matter what you do - can't wait to see it. Wait, hmm... don't see many trucks with old American Daisies either... I will say that, for me, I've always kinda viewed Cragar s/s and American daisies as "car wheels" but slots - they scream cool old truck. Ok, if I can't talk you off the bridge, I vote slots |

Looking at the Poll so far its 2/3rds TT and 1/3 Rallys. Slots are not my thing and yes original 15 inch Cragar S/S's would be okay. Steelys with P01's isn't that whats on the truck now and if not please post a pic. I would love the Daisies but last time I looked they were 450.00 US a piece on American Racings Web Site and I would like to retire with a couple bucks in the bank so I wont have to eat Cat Food when I'm 88 which really isn't that far away. So many choices and so little time..

Re: Wheel Choice Help Me Poll
Yep, that is what you have now - I'm just trying to keep you out of the cat food closet because you already own these While I'm not a skinny ww fan normally, when I see ones that are "just right" on a C10, they really are "just right". Here's kinda what I'm thinking, but only the last one is lowered, a little (but ww's could be a little skinnier like sameyrasmea's imo ). Member sameyrasmea's very original Super for the tire I'm talkin about and also a blue C10, similar tires. And lastly a slightly lowered white swb with PO1s and semi-skinny ww's. Just some thoughts - not trying to talk you out of any particular choice - I just think what you have already is a very good combo. Once lowered, I think skinny ww's might set it off quite nicely, and you're only out the $ for 4 tires, and no cat food required!
I didn't even know daisies were still available!! One additional note on rallies if you decide to go that direction - I've had them and always felt that if I had all 4 the same size, they were too wide in front or too skinny in back (usually too wide in front) - finding different width wheels so you can go wider in the back - and with matching window panes front to back - can be challenging with the mix of van and truck rallies out there. But that would be a good look if you could find it - skinnies in front with fatter out back. Then again, TTs are hard to beat.... I know, I'm no help at all. Since you're askin for opinions, I vote Torque Thrusts. Given those two options, I really prefer the look of the Torque Thrusts.
For whatever that's worth, I really like the stock hubcaps too.
