Inner Fender Patch
Took out the grill to pull engine and clean up radiator support etc. The metal on passenger inner fender is pretty thin in a small area. I would maybe purchase an inner fender to use a piece as a patch panel. Of course for this to work it would have to be fairly close to the original stamping. Does anyone know what repop fenders might be as close to possible as the original. If I can't get one close, I will make the patch panel myself.

Just make the piece yourself. That should be a pretty easy piece to make. LockDoc

Re: Inner Fender Patch
Looks like the inner panel on my '71. I think battery leakage over time causes the damage. I made a patch panel from sleet metal.. The rolled edge can be made using pan pliers. Welded it into place, ground the welds then had the whole thing blasted to remove rust and old paint.. After painting, the repair was invisible...

Re: Inner Fender Patch
Definitely from an old leaky battery and you can see the streaking. If I had a patch panel, Id likely bring it higher up. Making a panel, Id keep it smaller and down to the flat part.
