Need tips on replacing heater cor on my 72 Jimmy

Hi, Going to replace my heater core very soon. Jimmy has A/C any tips or info will be greatly appreciated. I know it is a hassle to change. Thank you.

Drop the inner fender right off the bat. Line the interior with something to catch any leaking fluid.

The repro cores can be ill fitting I’ve read. OEM cores can be repaired and reused. Check with Classic Heartbeat or GMC Paul if you plan to use a new core as they may have a better fitting example than a bigger retailer.

Agree with DeadheadNM's recommendations. Have not done one for some time. Last time I saw an aftermarket it was thinner and did not fit correctly or heat as well. If you have a local radiator shop see if you can have the stock one repaired or re-cored.
