4l80e will it fit?
I need info you smart people 😆 plans changed and now researching.....I have a 4l80e mated to the 350 engine I plan to use
1. Will a 4l80e fit or need minor or major tunnel mods? I have a small hump it seems 2. My current rear is a 3.73 posi not sure gearing on the vehicle the trans came out of.....any issues you know of? 3. I know theres wiring and computer stuff that will have to happen....anyone pulled those from the donor vehicle or start from scratch with a new purchase? Was searching for a 700r4 to avoid the wiring and computers but reading mixed reviews on those and benefits of the electronic ones so trying to decide my plan of attack. Thanks! |

Re: 4l80e will it fit?
I have a 55 with no trans hump, flat floor, and my SBC fits just fine with that transmission. Only spot that needed tweaking was the power brake vacuum can needed to be moved back.
I have a TCI front end and I think you might have the same. If so watch the oil pan clearance with the sway bar. For transmission control I converted to EFI so I have the Holley Terminator. It controls the TBI and the trans all in one box. Made for a clean install. That transmission is very tough, you probably never out grow it.
