1968 C10 NV4500 transmission

I have a 68 c 10 long wheelbase. 350 nv4500 transmission. The nv4500 has a fixed yoke. What are my options for a drive shaft without spending $600 to have a new one made?

Have to measure output on transmission to rear end pinion flange, the length might cross to something readily available, the NV4500 never came in a truck that didn't have a 14 bolt rear, so you will probably need a conversion U-joint that steps down the size on a factory HD driveshaft to the size of your rear axle.

I measured it to be 72" if i do a 1 piece shaft. Currently have 2 piece in the truck that is too short and no slide. previous transmission was a 200r4.

If I remember correctly I used the original drive shaft from my '72 C30 with the SM465 transmission. It uses the same bolt on yoke.

'72 Chevy C30, 350ci engine/NV4500 5 speed overdrive manual transmission.

my truck has coil springs with traiing arms. How much travel do i need in my drive shaft?

On my 72 with LS, we shortened the driveshaft by a couple of inches and it was $40 or so to cut, weld and balance.
