I said I would post some pics of the truck w/ the wheels on it before it left and here they are

the wheels are billet specialties 18" front and 20" rear w/ michilen tires (I forgot to get the tire size and the wheel specs from him before he left w/ it), the wheels have a light machined ribbing on the arms.

Nice job shawn,

I really like the clean look of stock, with the wheels, brakes, gas tank and wheels/tires you guys picked out

I'm so tragically un-hip now days.

That truck is absolutely knock your deal in the dirt spectacular, but those wheels are not right for it. The rear tires are too narrow for the wheels and the sidewalls are too short.

I think that truck deserves some 17 inch wheels with more tire on them.

I agree. I think the rest of the truck is spectacular. I just never cared for the "sports car wheel on a truck" look. Give me a 15 or 16 with a nice, tall, TRUCK tire any day.

Can you provide more info about the rear disc brakes? What kit or what swap was used?

it is a kit from Classic Pefrormance Products - and truely is a bolt on application, it even uses the original park brake cables. I would deffinetly recommend them if you are thinking about going w/ rear disc

shawn i love the truck itself but i dont care for the wheels im of the thought trucks should sit nice and high and have rallye wheels or even mud tires, but that is my tastes. I do know if i ever come into the kind of money where i co uld buy a 67-72 and do it the way i want to youd be the guy id call cause your work is phenominal i just dont care for that set of wheels on that truck

You mentioned something about leather door panels. Will these be done in the original scroll pattern or custom?

I would really like to have my door panels done in leather in the original scroll pattern someday, though it would probably require a lot of custom tooling and leather work.

my concern is not of the tires although personally I agree, but about the 2X4 bhind the wheel. Those discs ought to be able to hold the beast on that slight incline (grin,grin)

C'mon for Pete's sake guys. You guys are saying the wheels don't look right. If you squint just a little, you would swear they were a set of Cragar S/S.

I will agree the stance is a little tall for the lower profile tires. It would probably look more balanced with 20's up front, and a bit taller tire "if" he plans to keep it at that height. Personally I would slam it and be done with it.

Regardless of personal opinions, that truck looks awesome. Even if you don't like the stance, or wheels you have to admit it is a very classy looking truck...

Actually, I had the first set of 17 inch wheels on a truck that anyone around here had seen. The picture below was my 94 truck taken in December of 93. I bought the truck 3 months old from an old man. I lowered it and put the wheels on within 2 weeks of getting it.

I bent the wheels several times each. I've been there. Now, I'm an un-hip old man who doesn't bend expensive wheels.

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
