Rockwell T 221 N7 Transfer case.
Where do you find parts and gasket sets for these cast iron monsters? They have shims and clearances is there a manual available as well? They are mated up to SM 465 xmissions. Have a 69 C20 with split rims would like to build a crawler out of it.

Maybe think about doing an internet search of what's in the subject minus the space after the T.

Re: Rockwell T 221 N7 Transfer case.
Really? First hit in the following link is a manual.
There should be plenty of reading in the links in the searches. https://www.google.com/search?q=Rock...hrome&ie=UTF-8 This searches this site: https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=...4dUDCA0&uact=5 I've read that bearings and seals can be had since they're standard. I recall seeing a post with numbers, etc. but don't ask me where it is. |

Take lots of pictures when you take it apart. Bearings aren't to bad to get, seals are probably going to be tougher since they have to be crossed reference so save the old seals to measure. Lots of info on the web. Just have to look around.

Re: Rockwell T 221 N7 Transfer case.
I bought a kit earlier this year from Torque King 4x4. Had everything I needed, plus some (they must include extra parts for variations).

Re: Rockwell T 221 N7 Transfer case.
Using TorqueKing too. Also might consider SKF seals for input and output shafts.
They are a newer design material that has a higher temperature rang-400 degrees, along with compatibility to newer lubricants. part number SKF 17387. (Make sure latest design/material) Also consider using two on each shaft. Last edited by aotte1; 01-09-2021 at 12:34 PM. |
