71-72 Front Bumper on 67 for Fog Lights
Anybody ever put the 71-72 with the parklight/ turn signal light holes on their 1967 or 1968 truck. I am interested (if it all fits) in doing a fog light option on my 67 and wanted to see if anyone else has accomplished this. Might be a cool project.

I did it years ago. I never found any lights that fit the opening back then though. I had about 3/4 of the hole filled. I didn't take pictures because it looked to redneck!

Yeah I guess the challenge will still be trying to find a fog light that will fit that opening. Maybe the aftermarket will have caught up by now. The only thing I can think of that might fit is a 1997 F-150 4x4 fog light but I have not taken any measurements yet.

It should be easier with LEDs.

Re: 71-72 Front Bumper on 67 for Fog Lights
Yeah I saw that one from LMC but the round shape just does not go well with a square body in my opinion. That is why I am sort of exploring this idea with the 71-72 bumper with the rectangle openings.

Re: 71-72 Front Bumper on 67 for Fog Lights
67 72 are fairly rounded and flowing and have 2 to 4 round headlights
So how do round fog lights not fit with round headlights |

Re: 71-72 Front Bumper on 67 for Fog Lights
It was just my opinion. To me, the round fog light holes in the bumper just don't look exactly right and I can't put my finger on why because normally I would like that look. We'll have to see what I come up with in the coming months with this project.

The round lok much better when they look like they are supposed to be there as opposed to a hole cut into a flat bumper with 2 lights in it.

Re: 71-72 Front Bumper on 67 for Fog Lights
As Chewy says, the round “fit” much better, especially on a 67.
I put light in my bumper, from the Idea of seeing the “Chrome Bumper with Fog Lights” in the LMC catalog. The problem I had was that I didn’t want Chrome, so I made my own holes in my white bumper. I measured and remeasured a hundred times to make sure they were exactly spaced. I first attempted to cut them out with a Hole Saw. That failed miserably. Then I had a local welder dude cut them out (a little small) with his acetylene torch. I then carefully ground out the holes with my angle grinder to-get them perfectly round and the proper size.. Tomorrow I’ll take/post a few pictures and tell you the size of the hole. I had to fab the mounting brackets also, but I think they turned out pretty nice. More to come tomorrow ![]() |

I did these about 25+ years ago before the bumper company's made them. I took the bumper to work one night and cut the holes and welded the pipe in it and the mounting bracket. The body shop did the rest. Frenched the tag area.

Re: 71-72 Front Bumper on 67 for Fog Lights
Here's a mocked up side by side, but the 72 bumper has not replaced the park/ turn lights with fog lights yet. I must admit, the round is starting to grow on me a bit!
Oh and "Andy4639" I love the work! Really like the recessed license plate. Looks great! |

Nowadays you can probably find a set of LED fixtures that will fit in the opening. (As Andy mentioned, that was the issue in the past, and it came down to the reason I didn’t do it.) If/when you decide, we’d love to see the results |
