I like the cowl hoods, and had an option to get one, but I modified the body so much (took trim off, tailgate cover w/inside handle, etc.) that I didn't want to take anything else away from the character of the truck.

Cowl hoods look good on our trucks. The ones most people use are only about 2". I like them but don't consider that a Pro-Street look at all. I have seen a 5" fiberglass cowl that looked awesome!. It was a Orange shortbed with white SS stripes.

This is a Goodmark hood. When we put it on, it wasn't curved or crowned enough. We had to put a 2x4 on the cowl and close the hood on it to tweak it up some.No damage done and now it fits good.

the hoods look nice from the outside. Does anyone have pictures of the system under the hood to isolate the cool air?

I was told mine is a Sherwood (Shurwood?). I'm not sure, I still haven't found them online. Anyone got a link?

I'm not sure of others but I don't think my hood has any of the framework for an actual cowl induction setup.

tomsC10R, yours looks a Harwood. They make fiberglass scoops. I had that same scoop on my last truck.

70c10,
It's actually a 1 piece steel cowl hood. Theres just nothing for the air cleaner to "seal" to for a truely functional cowl induction setup.

Yep, and I have less than 1” of clearance with that. I like the truck and the view from the drivers seat better with out the scoop on, so for the mean time mine is just bolted (screwed) on.

Here is my cowl hood. It is made by Unlimited products or up22.com. It by far is the biggist piece of crap there is. It doesn't fit right and the underneith side isn't finished. There is air bubbles all over and you can see light through spots of the hood. Not worth the money spent on it.

It is a 4 inch cowl.

ok, I understand they can look nice fom the outside but for myself I wouldn't put one on unless it was functional also. With no comments regarding the underpinnings I assume it would have to be custom fabricated.
