The green wire kinda reminds me of the wire that go the the temp sensor on the motor. Until you get a clear picture of all sides or discribe it more to us It only a guess at the moment.

i believe the mysterious red wire is the wire going to the horn... this green wire is just hanging there. ill have to get a better picture. and the temp sensor wire is green but it is hanging around the master cylinder if you look so tahts not it.

That red wire has to be someones fixit. put a multimeter on the green wire and then see if the volts go up when you push the horn button (assuming the horn button on your truck works). That is the correct way. If it were me I would just hook the green wire to the horn and push the button.

looks like that red wire isn't connected to anything in that last pic, and the green wire is attached to the horn.

1969 GMC,
Upon further examination I agree with you about that red wire and the green wire!! It looks like it was hooked up correctly with the green wire originally. Is that a crazy red air horn I see in your engine pic dinnut? Maybe someone needed a longer wire so they spliced in the red wire to the horn wire. Just a Thought.

dinnut,
You just need to sit down with the harness diagram and the harness for the front clip and go to work, from the looks of it.

I particularly like the custom sheathing on the custom positive batt cable. and the blue positive feed to the harness that is ?"holding the radiator or cap on?"?

i have a new (used) harness to stick in there..... one day in the next couple weeks. the red horn is a cow horn... only 1 wire. goes to battery. remote then goes inside. i added. original horn button doesnt work. po added a horn and hooked it up with the push button style buttons... so green wire isnt being used.... whats the red wire for? and the horn has a blue wire btw... lol. my sidemarkers arent hooked up either. cant find wiring. like its been deleted or something....?
