Roof pictures needed please

I could use a couple of roof pictures with the top off from someone that has replaced the top on their roof, please. I'm trying to find a way to run wiring for my roof lights

Re: Roof pictures needed please

I couldnt get a wire thru the a-pillar or a coat hangar wire to pull one thru. Only one way I know of. Maybe other trucks are different?

I would bet there is a mouse nest in 99% of these trucks.

By keeping the door shut and the windows up would be a pretty good deterrent

Re: Roof pictures needed please

Thanks for the photos. This is a real puzzle. I also tried the front door pillar but I found the same problem. I found an original wiring diagram for the lights and it shows the wiring going to the rear and going down the rear panel like the interior light but I'm not having much luck. Well, I'll just keep trying with my wiring snake and hope for the best.

Re: Roof pictures needed please

Run your snake thru the visor mount hole to the rear pillar. "Maybe" that will help.

Re: Roof pictures needed please

when I put in a new dome light in my son's truck, I used a very rigid thick gauge wire and just fished it from the dome light opening down to and thru the drivers side. It was a bit of a chore but I finally got it to work

Thanks but I tried that. No problem getting to the lights but no luck YET getting it to the back.

I used a piece of tie wire to fish some wires from the back to the visor hole. I can’t really give you any advice other than it is possible but took some persistence. Good luck!

Crossover from work to hobby - as an electrician I always leave a pull line in place when we fish something complex. It's a PITA to fish this so when you successfully pull the wires through, consider leaving a piece of nylon line that won't melt or rot in there so you can pull something else through at a later date. Say you want to add a mic for your bluetooth refit so you can talk hands free. Or whatever reason I can't think of now. Maybe Mrs. PDXhall wants a vanity light on the passenger visor.

Thanks for the input. It's good to see that it is possible. I'm going to work from the back to the front and see if I can make that work.

Re: Roof pictures needed please

Dont know if it will help but I put a console above my mirror in my 69 C10, it had the 2 map lights in it and a storage pocket came from a mid 90's blazer.I used a air hose and a small string and started at the sunvisor hole and gently blew air toward the A pillar and fed the string through the hole it freeking found the path down to the kickpanel where there was a hole . worked great There was a youtube video on it by a guy here on the forum tx firefighter I belive is his handle.
