Universal tool -- Balljoint separator/installer
This probably has been posted before but amateurs should buy a ball joint separator/installer tool. HF is fine.
Besides it name, it removes suspension pins and bushings, installs new bushings, and removes and installs u-joints. Yes, you may need a different guide such as a socket or bolt depending on diameters. I have used it on the leaf springs of the 46, and 59. A portable press. It can be clamped in a vise and used for some task. Use it with an impact and things are even easier.

Re: Universal tool -- Balljoint separator/installer
Or you can just do what I did and go rent it from your local parts house. I have only needed it one time, so buying didn't seem like a good idea. But yea, I agree, that is a tool that is needed when you do any kind of front end work. RR
