1980 Mystery Wire

Can anyone assist in identifying this light green mystery wire running out of a grommet from my firewall? Equally curious about the striped wire appearing horizontal in the second picture. Thank you

Re: 1980 Mystery Wire

the green wire with the orange plug is a "test" for torque converter lockup and should go to a vacuum switch near the brake booster on the fire wall. The orange plug end doesn't actually go to anything. I'm not sure about the pink with black stripe at the moment

Re: 1980 Mystery Wire

IThe pink w/black lead is for the transmission kickdown switch. If it is used on that model, it will probably be on the firewall near where the orange wire goes. I believe the other end goes to the fusebox to get switched power

Re: 1980 Mystery Wire

Thank you Palf. If that is indeed the kick down should it go to ignition power fuse?
