Seatbelt retraction broke
Well I gave an uneducated in 67-72 chevys person a ride this morning and he yanked up on the belt from the tower..
Guess what it, doesn't retract. The little time before work I had I pulled the cover off and the retraction piece inside was broke.. I have an old set to replace it with, luckily. Does this happen often to you guys. This guy wasn't the first to yank up on it, but is the first to break it.. Do I need to have a review of the rules for being in a 67-72 to show them before they ride with me Just upset way to early this morning.

I have not had any experience with them breaking. Did the little plastic tube break? If the tube breaks, then the retract spring could unwind.
I suspect age and use had something to do with it breaking. Jim |

I figure the plastic broke so the spring let go..
Just wondering if it has happen to anyone else. That people get in there truck and yank up on the belt, thinking it should pull over their waste.

Never had that happen, but what really gripes me is when someone gets in and thinks because the truck is old, that they have to SLAM the doors!!! And the bad thing is you can push or pull GENTLY and they will click twice and close!!!!

i hear ya .... funny things is..my passenger side door closes perfect if you look at it wrong ...and people slam it ... the driver side takes alittle more effort ...that only i have to deal with :p
i can recall how many times if told people ... geez take it easy on her .... i suppose becuase they trucks are actually metal that folks think they won't break

After new Door stripping was put in my 72' you really gotta give a good tug to get the doors to completly close...maybe thats why my door handle button fell out eh?
