Three on the Tree (3 OTT) Bushing Question
This has been a popular topic of discussion over the years and there are various threads dedicated to the subject of replacing the bushings on a manual 3 speed on the column but I can't find one that is recent with part numbers for the replacement bushings. Since these parts must be ordered online I want to be sure that I order all the necessary parts for the job in a single order.
Post #7 in the following thread from 2012, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=505012 mentions the following parts: 91-062 and 91-063 from classicparts.com and states that you will need "2 of each (upper/lower)" When I got to the Classic Parts website they no longer list the 91-063 part and when I search for 91-062 it pulls up the following three parts, 91-062, 91-062B and 91-065. I have also seen threads saying that you will need the following part, https://www.classicparts.com/1960-72.../#.U7wTW41dW2N, if this is correct, how many are needed? I also plan to follow Green Machine's 3 Speed Manual Column Shifter Adjustment thread, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=215307 to get things shifting smoothly once the bushings are replaced. I realize that many people opt to move the shifter to the floor but I would like to keep my column shift and get it working smoothly. Thanks for any advice. |

Re: Three on the Tree (3 OTT) Bushing Question
Following. I need to do this myself but just have not ordered the parts.
My truck had the usual 1-2 jam up when I bought it. Got it I stuck, cleaned, lubed, and adjusted and she shifts fine now but I’m thinking replacing 54 year old rubber pieces isn’t a bad decision.

Quote:
My truck is a 1970 C/10. Would I need 4 of the 60-6909 or 4 each of the 67-06910 and 67-06911? I see that the Truck and Car Shop lists the first part as 60-66 and the other two parts as 67-72 but the Classics Parts website lists the same three parts as covering different years https://www.classicparts.com/1947-76...info/91%2D062/ https://www.classicparts.com/1967-78...info/91%2D065/ https://www.classicparts.com/1947-76...nfo/91%2D062B/ |

Re: Three on the Tree (3 OTT) Bushing Question
Buy both styles , Since they don't give any dimensions and we don't know the dimensions of the shift rods in your truck It just pays in time and shipping cost to cover your bases by buying them both . It doesn't hurt to have some spares .
