Something new
I have a 69 c-10 with a 454 from a p-30 motorhome. Engine was rebuilt and mated on a 71 chassie. It had a 650 quadrajet on that was alot of problem. I found a 750 quadrajet at a good price.Ran o.k.for as year or so. I am having problem's with carb now. After having a few eldelbrock in the past,it's time for a edelbrock and manifold!!! The motor is a 80-84 that has header's and i don't know what was done during rebuild. The prior owner would not return my call's.And the car lot that sold the truck was not any help. The p-30 in 80-84 are suppose to be 230 horsepower. This truck is way to peppy to be 230 h.p.Maybe 330 h.p.? Anyway I am looking for advice on carb. and manifold.

Re: Something new
That motor probably has the peanut port heads they are called that because the intake runner volume is about the size of a peanut compared to the older big block heads Also the compression is gonna be way low. Like 8:1 I have seen them with 7.8:1. But I have had several trucks with the bigblock that had the TBI injection and I unhooked the single wire inside the cab by the ECM and ran up the timing and WOKE up that truck in every occasion. Now I know you dont have any of that stuff just said that to say this the trucks were so detuned that a little tinkering can even wake up the boringest of the 454's. Now back to your question I would get a 750 Edelbrock[ 1407 I think??] and find a intake like a performer or one step above that and you will be happy
