4wd rear axle direct bolt in in 2wd Pickup?
I have 2003 2wd 1500 Silverado needs a rear axle. I'm going to the local u pull to get one are the 4wd axles direct bolt in or do I need to find another out of a 2wd?

The spring perches and shock mounts should be the same.
Get one with the same gear ratio. You can re-program your PCM for the new ratio with a tuner and maybe the ABS controller with a Tech2 (I'm not positive you can do the ABS without a new CAL from GM) but why make it more difficult than it needs to be. Look on the SPID in the glovebox for the gear codes. https://www.crawlpedia.com/rpo_axle_codes.htm
