Simple things, frustrating, wiring n lights.
Just an observation. While working on anything electrical on the pumpkin coach I have been taking every connection apart, cleaning the sockets, contacts, and making sure the wire is not frayed, loose, or has a break or rub on the insulation. If the light bulb is not new it gets replaced. Bulbs may look good and work but still be bad. Old globe can become detached from the base and be loose but still make contact until bumped or rattled and then no light.
Cleaning everything up good, good grounds, and a dab of bulb grease goes a long way. Fifty years of moisture, dirt, and corrosion doesn't keep the lights on or switches "switching". Learning the hard way one day at a time.... |

I have felt your pain. On my old 66 I actually soldered a ground wire to the outside of the bulb socket to get a good ground. But it was a total rust bucket.

Re: Simple things, frustrating, wiring n lights.
I rebuilt the underdash harness in my truck to solve some issues. Used 3 harness to understand, rewire, and get back to full function.
It took over 3 days of non stop work. I have very little understanding of the wiring diagrams to begin and now looking back it was worth it. Its over 500 bucks for a complete harness, I spent about 100. |
