Thumbs up

That looks sweet!. Can you give a few details on how to do mine?. Do you have to cut the lens and the metal housing?. If so how? Thanks

PULL THE DASH....
PLACE A TOWEL DOWN TO LAY THE FACE OF THE GAUGE'S ON
TAKE THE REAR METAL COVER OFF...W/ THE CIRCUT BOARD...
SET ASIDE....YOU DO NOT CUT ANY THING HERE!!!!!!!!!
JUST DRILL A 3/8" HOLE BELOW THE CIRCUT BOARD..FOR THE SUNPRO GAUGE WIRES..IN THE TACH AREA....

REMOVE THE METAL..FRAME INSIDE THAT KEEP'S THE LIGHT IN...
CUT OUT THE TACH AREA...I USED A CUT OFF TOOL...
I EVEN PAINTED WITH ALUM..PAINT TO MAKE THE LIGHT'S BRIGHTER.....

o yea i painted the needles.....red too....

YOU CUT... THE CLEAR FACE PLATE IN TWO HALFS...CUTTING AWAY THE TACH AREA PART...CLEAN AND SET BACK INTO PLACE...INTO THE LITTLE NOTCHES....

REPLACE THE METAL TRAY(LIGHT KEEPER)....

I PUT VENT BALL FELT AROUND THE OUT SIDE OF MY DASH BEZAL TO HOLD THE GAUGE INTO PLACE....

LEFT ENOUGH WIRE FROM THE GAUGES INSIDE SO'S I COULD PULL OUT TO CHANGE THE LIGHT BULB ....IF IT GOES OUT...

PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER.....WIRE AS INSTRUCTED....

Mark, let me get this starit. You cut the inner "green metal housing?. You cut the factory lense in half, then cut 2 semi-circles the same size as the new tach?. I guess when you place these 2 halves in the bezel, you can't tell they are actually 2 pieces. Is this right?

I got it now except for the lense part. If you don't cut the 2 semi circles, how will the new tach fit between the 2 halves?. The lense is cut vertically right?. Sorry for being a pain on the lense but I want this slick setup now that I have sen yours. Thanks

thats some good stuff. I was wanting to do mine like that but wasn't exactly sure if it would fit in underneath the circuit board stuff. I only got one question though. Is it possible to just cut the hole in the plastic instead of cutting the lense in half? If you cut the hole out of the green plate couldn't you do the same with the lense instead of hacking it in half?

OK I AM A HACKER....THERE YOU SAID IT j/k

HAY....how do u cut it when you down to 1/8" left on the top side.

try it...i used my cut off tool....

cutting the circle is the trick....post a pic when you get it cut....

i just did not want to take a chance of cracking the lens....can't recover from that...........

i wish i had taken pictures....sorry...and here i thought i was the last to do this

I also have the same tach in the dash like that

I love it too....i have had that $42 tach in there for over 2 years and it works great.

Mine was a direct fit into the dash though...i didn't have to use the felt.

I plan to borrow a digicam tommorrow and snap some new pics of my trucks....will put my dash on the list
