door hinges carriage bolt head??
Im prepping for paint and my driver door is fine but my pass. side hinges have what look like stove bolts or carriage bolts?
How am I supposed to remove these , any help is appreciated , I looks and there is not access in the fender well , except for the center bolt on both hinges... I can fit my finger behind and it feels like there threaded on. Please see attached pics |

Re: door hinges carriage bolt head??
Take the kick panels off inside cab and you can get to the backside of them.
If they just spin you might have to grind slot in head of carriage bolt to hold. Worst cast you could tack a nut to it for back up. JT from SC |

Re: door hinges carriage bolt head??
Your Welcome.
Surely if the carriage bolts were used that they benefited from the square portion to hold bolt head in a fixed pattern while tightening and loosening. Originally the factory installed captive nuts at the door mounts that were spot welded on. Keep on bringing it back to life. JT from SC |
