Allison Transmissions
Hey ya'll,
I was thinking about trying to swapping an allison automatic 5 or 6 speed tranny into my '69.Has anyone ever done this to one of these trucks? If so how hard was it?I was thinking about putting a beefed up 700R4 behind my 383 but i think an allison tranny would be sweet.Any info about this would be appreciated.

I do not think it has been done yet but I am pretty sure that advanced adapter's sell's the tranny to block adapter, not 100% sure on that yet though..

You would be money ahead and have a better set-up for your truck to go with a TH400 with a Gear Vendors O/D than to try to use an Allison. The Allison is too big (physically), and really not the type of tranny you want in your old truck. This is from someone who loves my Allison in my DD 2001 GMC, but I wouldn't want one in my Blazer.
