4 wheel drive
help..........i can't get my 4 wheel to work. It locks in on passenger side so i can't move the half shaft while its in neutral but when i unlock it it moves freely so i know the passenger side is locking in. The driver's side half shaft moves freely whether locked in or not as well as the front drive shaft. The transfer case is working so it seems cause when i put it in 4-lo i am limited to the speed i can go. Any ideas to what the problem may be?

If you are describing locking and unlocking your hubs, it sounds like the lockout is not pushing the engagement ring far enough into the hub to engage the axle shaft with the splines in the hub itself. But again, I don't totally understand what you are asking.

sounds to me like only one of your locking hubs are locking, go ahead and replace both of them. if only one hub will lock, DO NOT put it in 4-wheel drive

If you dont use them alot they can get gumed up.I would at least take them apart and clean them.Depending on what your doing you can waste a set of hubs in a day. Buy locking them in your only leting the spring push them in.If it crusty, they won't ingage fully.

if cleaning didnt work, i would go with the upper-end warn hubs (supreme maybe? the exact name escapes me). they are the more expensive, but better, of the two kinds they make.
