Seats from a 2014 Silverado
Hi,
It's been a while since I posted a question. Everyone still okay I hope? Anyway, I have found a set front seats from a 2014 Silverado with a heating element in them. I want to put these in my 71 Truck, and I would like to get the heated seats to work. Is there an easy way to get this to work? (I don't have the switches that were in the dash) I've tried to use the search engine but no luck. I was hoping someone already did such an upgrade with these seats. Thanks for any help guys

Re: Seats from a 2014 Silverado
Well I have NOT done this type of upgrade to my truck but here are my thoughts. Easiest would be to get one out of another 2014 Silverado. If not the direction you want to go I would go to the local pull a part junk yard and look for one that fit in the location you want to put it. Just be sure that the wire gauges used on the switch matched what you have on the seat. You will also need to make sure you have a fused power wire. Just my 2 cents

I'm curious if they work with only putting power on them, or that they need some sort of module 🤔 Haven't found a good wiring diagram with the seat harnes on it. So if any has that for me I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

Re: Seats from a 2014 Silverado
According to this site listed below there is a module that receives a signal from the seat heat switches in the dash. Looks like the module may be inside the seat. The seat heat switches have resistors inside them that change the voltage that is sent to the module to tell it to run in high or low. It would be easiest to use the seat heat switches from the 2014 truck but in theory you could a generic switch with a resistor inline to tell the module what to do. Odd thing is the high mode for the drive & passenger seats show different resistances. The line that is "always hot" going to the module should have a 20amp fuse. The line that is "Hot in Run" going to the heat switch which sends the hi/low signal to the module should have a 10amp fuse.
Here is the drawing I found: https://www.gmtruckclub.com/threads/...rking.1446224/
