Exhaust manifold dilemma
I’m putting together a 72 C10, and after putting the Vortec headed 350 I found some 90’s truck exhaust manifolds. Idiot me didn’t account for the engine stands which interfere with those manifolds. So the dilemma is, do I try to find 67-72 ram horn manifolds and hope they clear the spark plugs or notch the engine stands for the manifolds I already have?

Re: Exhaust manifold dilemma
Keeping it original is always the best IMHO. I believe the Vortec heads and the earlier heads have the same bolt pattern on the exhaust side. You do have to run the long spark plug wires and the heat shields for the early style to have the correct look. I sometimes see the wires draped over everything, works but not very aesthetic.
The original exhaust manifolds are not that expensive. Two of them will fit in a flat rate box, helps keep shipping costs down. PM me if you need a set. Rick |

Re: Exhaust manifold dilemma
Rams horns easily clear the spark plugs on Vortec heads. I have 2 1/2 inch rams horns on mine.

I think you can buy them from Rock Auto.
