Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Well I can toss some up with the Biggers and H1’s. If you check out the build link you can see some of the past combos it had....
I have to go smaller tire. The state says my truck is too big and I can’t get a sticker for inspection. I had it like this for years but some dumb dumb in a lifted jeep killed some folks and now they are strict... 35-36 is were I wanna be. But need a tire for a narrow rim. Thanks for any input!! If you know a cheaper option then interco I am all ears! Sorry these are not wheeling shots. Was just checking a few things and snapped the pics.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Don't know of a tire other than Interco for a tall skinny. But anymore Interco is cheaper than the more popular brands. Size depending of course...

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Yeah leading that way..
Noticed the sxII has a higher weight rating then the q78.. Heave read about people fitting other metric sizes on the 16x7 acuride rims but that seems to be pushing it.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Don't mind a bias ply tire as long as I use it 90% off road. Both of those Interco tires you listed will be lucky to get 20k miles out of them. If you are good with that, great. My tire choices for trucks in the last few buys, including the choice for my new build are Toyo's or Nitto's. Usually 50k+ unless destroyed. A 12.5 wide tire on a 7" wheel while out of most manufactures recommendations should work fine. On one of my trucks I run a 235 Nitto Trail Grappler on an 8" wheel which is out of recommendation and tires are wearing well.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
I too think you can get away with mounting up to a 12.5" wide tire on a 7" rim. How close the inside bulge comes to the knuckle may be something to look at, depending on these wheel's offset.
Personally I would be more concerned about the RPMs you'll be twisting up on that 6.2 with only 35s & the 4.56 gears/SM465 combo.

That's a good point on the RPM’s. I have been looking for an excuse to install the ranger OD I picked up. Since I currently have the interior stripped now seems like the time. Ended up picking up 4 tsl sx2’s from intercos Blem list. Will see how they last but the price was 100 off each tire. Size is 35/10r16. Edited to try these. My truck had 3410.5r15 TSl bias when it was still half ton and I thought we're my best offroad tire. I will keep you all posted.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
I tried 12.50's on 7 in rims and they don't work for me. Anything more than about 22 lbs of air and they were riding on the center of the tread. I can't afford to buy tires that often.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
I searched for tall skinny for my IH build... I went with bfg mud terrain t/a km3s...
Mine are 255/85-16...about 33in tall.. have 4.56s but with a od trans..not on road yet.. I dont know how they compare in price but you might check them out.. They make a 315/75 ...34-35in tall .. not sure if they have what you want..

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Are you looking for All-terrain tires or Mud tires? I think the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 Radial Tires that I saw on 4wheelonline is the one you are looking for. It's not that skinny though. But it's a hybrid between AT and Mud terrain tires so it's perfect for your off-roading trips.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Excited to see those mounted, I originally wanted Q78 or those 35x10s but ended up with radial 315s since I couldn't justify double the money for bias tires.

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
I also liked the q78’s but wanted to try these out. I was leaning towards radial 315’s but scored these off intercos blemish list for alot less. I have ran bias 34/10.5 and the bias boggers 38.5/15 on this truck before…. The wide bias tires sucked on the street. The skinny tires were fine. Hope these handle like the bias 34’s i had long ago….

Re: Looking for help picking tires for my K10
Got the ford acuride rims and the tires mounted will need to check what pics i have and add to this theead. The rims came of an e250 and e 350 van. So they are wider then stock chevy rims. I balanced them with 6oz of beads per tire. With the heavy ply side walls these were harder to mount by hand but we gpt it done…. Color of rims GM poli lime green 517 ( the color for the whole)
