where to get 78 style chrome clips ?

Trying to find some clips for lower grill surround. I could use some for the side trim as well but mostly need the 7 clips for the bottom grill. Mine all broke off when I removed it to paint lower grill support. I can,t find any on LMC etc. Maybe I,m calling them the wrong name.

No but thanks. I will post a pic. Could make a universal one work, the paint supply store has them. They are a sq. clip that slides in with a nut and bolt

p36 of the LMC catalogue CC102 2021 Vol 1 has the nuts perhaps youll have to buy the molding to get the clips? P38 shows other moldings that the clips are attached to new moldings when you buy them

I see they come with mounting hardware but you think they would sell just the hardware. Here's a pic anyway. The left side should look like the right side. They slide in just like on the side trim. Maybe I,ll try and contact them

unfortunately they do not as far as i can tell.. this orning i went to a body supply place that sells all kinds of body clips and were told these are not available to order anymore, they used to sell them by the box... same with most of the plastic clips that would slide into a rivet on a panel and have two feet on the bottom to hold the chrome strip and a channel on top ( was looking for clips for my 69 Fury)

Those look very similar to the mounting clips that go on the back on the 83-84 Grille center moldings and headlight bucket moldings. They might be too wide. These are 1 1/2”.

Re: where to get 78 style chrome clips ?

doesn,t look like I will get any soon so I tried the universal clips which the paint store has lots. The ones you bend off the tabs work good but they don,t bend off easy without bending everything else so I used a grinder and slowly trimmed to fit and put a little curve to the clip to fit. The other one seems to work good too but I like the other one better, seems more solid but a pain to make fit. I think a person could make his own with some thin metal and tack a small bolt on.
