Rear brakes sticking or dragging when moving slow

Not sure why, but every now and then, my brakes stick when going slow.

The rear end is out of an 83-ish truck, 3/4 ton, 8 lug.
If the brake adjuster is all the way in, it’s really free spinning. To get the shoes just touching the drums, the adjuster is half-way out.

And, I have these marks on the shoes like it’s skipping or bouncing.

The front has discs. I plan on eventually converting to disc on the rear.

Just anouther thought....the rear diff is from a later truck? Maybe it has to do with piston size on the the brakes @ the rear(wheel cyls)? Longhorn

Well, the drums and shoes are new, and I have to extend the adjuster half way out before the shoes start getting close to the drums. If I don't get the adjustment extended out that far, I get no pedal.

I'm probably going to convert the rear end to discs, just haven't picked up the parts yet. I found a setup that will work, converting it to disc brakes; I could even use the ElDorado calipers and setup a parking brake.
