Evap emissions canister on 69 C10?
I'm working on my son's truck which I actually drove for 20+ years before I gave it to him. He's had a couple guys work on it since then. Seems to me at one time it had an evaporative emissions canister, located behind the core support on the driver's side, but it doesn't now. Am I right, or were those not installed until later years?

Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming. Retired as a factory automation products salesman. The fuel vapor recovery canister was not installed until 1970. I won't say that that is a hard-and-fast rule, but I never saw one on a '69 vehicle. This is a game where some rare things happen, though.

My 70 had one. However it was delivered new in California. You can tell as they required special fuel lines and they are rarely removed. |

Yes, usually on top of the frame below/outside the battery. Few people ever changed the filter in the bottom of them. I sold a zillion of those when I worked as a mechanic, for that reason.
