Seat Belts Marked as Left and Right? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Recently purchased a set of seat belts marked with '71 Irvin manufacture date. Both are stamped with an " L " on the underneath side. Would think that a factory installed set would be marked one as a left and one as a right. Any one have a loose set of belts with the L and R markings and known to be from the same truck? Curious on this, thanks for any replies.

I looked at about 25 to 30 retractors that I have and maybe four of them had a nail on them but none with an R. I’m not sure exactly what the hell is for but I don’t think there is a left or right.

Thanks for the reply altho I'm not quite understanding the "nail" comment? Had never really looked at the bottom of the belt retractors sections before and just noticed these being both marked the same. Seemed to bolt in just fine and operate as they should so all is good.
