Thought I would share

It's summer time in Alaska. Big thanks to this forum and all those that have helped me in the last year with troubleshooting and solving each of the issues with my Truck through the winter, getting it ready for this exact trip. To me this is what it's all about owning one of these truck. The memories with my boys and the hope they will appreciate it as much as I do when I leave this world. If it wasn't for all the knowledge on here I would have never gotten things running how they are now.

Just finished a 400 mile round trip to the fishing grounds. Not only did the truck run flawlessly but, I cant even begin to tell you how many dads would come over with there sons or daughters while me and my boy were around the camp fire, just to ask or look at the truck. These are the type of trips you can't buy with money. But having this truck and sharing it and the memories is what it's all about. Thanks you to everyone for the knowledge and patience with some of the simple solution questions I might have asked. I hope you all are making your own memories. Whether with your own kids or just for you. Have a great summer everyone and thanks again.

FYI
For those of you that enjoy fishing as much as I do. This is only half the fish we pulled in. We got 22 Chinook or "Red" salmon in 2.5 days. It was just a slaughter house of pissed off fish only in Alaska!!!

What a great post and experience! Very glad you got it running and that it made the trip. With all the salmon in the bed, you should cross-post this to the Lets see pics of your truck hauling!! thread!

Awesome! The memories you and your kids have will last a lifetime. Kinda sad, but a lot of kids will never get to experience the outdoors. I've done many a camping trip with the tent in the truck as in your picture. Darn good looking fish haul also!

Re: Thought I would share

I love Reds. I worked the Halibut and Salmon season out of Cordova in 1988. Just a greenhorn, I worked on, or helped out about 4 or 5 boats. ''Next year will be better'' they said. They meant it but the next year, Exxon Valdez killed the whole Eastern end of the Prince William Sound. Never went back.
Alaskans are great Americans, and I sometimes miss them and their attitudes.
I did see a lot of '67-72 Chevy and GMC trucks there.

Re: Thought I would share

I like your truck, a clean restoration truck is ok but I like a truck that looks like it has been there and done that and is still going strong.
