Clicking tranny

When backing up I am hearing a clicking noise coming from the tranny. Tranny is a 400 turbo. Anyone know what it could be?

Thanks

Slackness. There shouldn't be much if any play in the driveline with the tranny in park.

Hard to tell without hearing it but I would check the shift linkage....if it is not adjusted correctly it could be the parking pawl...the thing that locks the trans when you put it in park. I have heard them make noise when the shift linkage is not adusted correctly....and it will only do it in reverse

I will check the u joints. In Jan the truck is going to the tranny shop for a checkup so I will ask them to check the parking pawl then.

Thanks Merry Christmas
