89 Jimmy wheel spacer help
Hello all, used to participate in these forums with my 71 C10, have since changed and moved on to a different project, an 89 Jimmy K5.
I've done a front spindle/bearing, wheel bearings, brake pads, rigged up the back window track etc.. so far. But when looking at it, the back wheels are inside the fender and the front wheels are even with the fender, so I was going to put some 1.5-2 inch spacers on the rear to bring them even with the front. Everything says they should be 78mm hubs on the rear, so I ordered a set. They're way too small. I start looking some more and it seems like 87 or 106mm are my only two semi-standard options. I get out a tape measure, and the rear hubs are 3.5 inches, which translates to just about 89mm? So I guess my question is, did someone change the rear end, and what are the odds that the 87mm hub centric spacers will actually fit on my rear end? Really looking forward to getting this project going. Thanks! Happy to be back. https://imgur.com/IZP39pw |

Re: 89 Jimmy wheel spacer help
A harbor freight caliper costs about $25. You'll find it useful for a lot of things, and it can give you an accurate measurement for this.
