Did the 72 Highlander package carry over into '73? (pics)

Just scored this 100K miles garage kept 1973 Custom Deluxe this week. Looking at the SPID, it has all the options that a YG8 72 Highlander has - chrome bumper, below eyeline mirror, door edge guards, tilt, A/C, tinted glass and the PA1 (Monte Carlo) wheel covers. And check out the seat cover - exact tartan material in saddle. Thoughts?

Wow! First one I've seen. You learn something every day. I guess I can't say my 72 Highlander was a one year only anymore. Love it!

Me too, just when you think you know it all… Joe, can you share which brochure you have? I gotta be on the lookout for it now.

the promo package trucks extended into 73 also, here's a YG8 (note the one above was not a promo package truck - just like in 72, you could have a YGx RPO promo package, which included the plaid seat cover, or just the seat cover alone). Congrats on the find, what a great lookin truck!

Turned your SPID, so people don't need to tilt their heads ;-)

Great find! Did it fall into you or did you stumble into it? Cool to see they moved up with the new Monte Carlo wheel covers. I see the Rear Window Delete M(?), which I think is Moulding. It's the body color top unique for a deluxe 2-tone in '73?

Re: Did the 72 Highlander package carry over into '73? (pics)

Thanks for the comments! This one popped up on Marketplace and even though I'm not a huge square fan, I had to check it out. I called and talked to the neighbor of the widow who's husband bought it new. He had just listed it and told some guy 4 hours away was all excited and coming to get it. I told him to let me know if the guy backed out. He marked the ad "pending", then removed it a few hours later. I figured it was gone. I called the guy back the following morning to see if by some chance he still had it. He told me the other guy got cold feet once he learned AL didn't have titles until 1975 and backed out. He also told me he pulled the ad because his phone would not stop ringing! I hooked the trailer up and headed straight to the bank! Truck was last tagged in 2013 and has been sitting since then. I've had to replace plugs, master cylinder, both front rubber brake lines and fuel filter. I got it running but it's got a bad miss when you take off down the road. I filed the points and it got some better, but I'm going to replace them and see if it clears up. It's got the typical farm truck all-terrain tires on the back and a few dents. However, it is the nicest original paint and rust-free truck I've owned. I bought it to flip, but I might just have to tag it and drive it a while!

I've never been able to flip a car, (sale), but I think you should drive it for at least a little while for your time, money, and effort.

Nice find Joshua
I’m with you, not much into square bodies
But
I’d enjoy that one for a while
Like everyone else besides Joe
I had no idea Highlander’s were available in 73

Saw this 74 GMC with rpo YG8 “Wideside option” for sale. That’s a new one on me. Any insight?
