LMC Steering column install - cross posted
Hi all,
Hope you’re having a great week! I’m in the middle of the LMC steering column install and have two quick questions. 1. I can’t seem to get the stewing spline bolt seated - see picture. Any helpful hints? 2. The column comes with a grey wire separate from the harness. I thought it could be for the horn but that spot looks filled. This is different than the stock setup. Any ideas on what this could be? |

Are you saying that the bolt won't fit all the way into the square hole? I'm presuming that is the bolt from the original column. LockDoc

@LockDoc - Yes that's the original bolt - the kit did not have a new one... In you experience should I be using a different bolt? Thank you

From what I remember the steering shaft needs to be aligned correctly with slot or flat in column splines for bolt to go through. Believe the round head on the bolt has a flat. Flat goes toward the band of the clamp.

Update - got the bolt seated!
Another quick question for you guys… Do the tabs on the column (red arrow) need to rest on top of this bracket (yellow arrow)? If so any tricks of the trade to get it in place with one person? Thanks! |
