What do you mean? like Racing harnesses without the crotch strap or what? Cuz I'm pretty sure they just bolt to a spot behind the top of the seat, and to the bottom of the seat. At least that's how we set up our harness in our race car.

They typically make three mounting styles; wraparound (to go around rollcage tubing), floor mount (bolt thru tab to floor) and clevis style (clip to eyelet bolted in).
I do alot of 4 & 5 point sets for offroad rigs I build, and use Crow Enterprizes for all of the ones I use. Here is a four point that uses a normal buckle instead of a camlock or latch and normal latch style more here Crow Enterprizes Last edited by pbmcauliffe; 12-25-2003 at 02:27 PM. |

I sell those but I honestly can't remember the price. I can get a price next week if you want to wait that long, if not Summit Racing sells them. They have fast shipping too.

These belts are cool but be careful with the mounting.
They should not go down after they go over your shoulder. Up to a roll bar is good. In a crash they will break your collar bones if they go down. Your weight will be pulling down on your shoulders.

Most of the time you want the shoulder belts to be 1-4" below the shoulder level. Too low a mounting point and yes you can compress the spine (if the shoulder is the belts fulcrum point, if the seat opening for the belt is higher than the shoulder you are okay). To higha mounting point and the belts are not as effective and under more strain.

It would be illegal to run them on the street. Might wanna look into it.
Dome been through that in the past, it is a federal thing. |

Pretty sure they are not DOT aproved.
The feds don't want anyone messing with safety equipment. Kinda like putting the later model 3 points in our trucks. I found all this out when I went to get my truck inspected in Tx with later model 3 point set up installed. The guy failed my inspection and showed me the federal guidelines for safety equipment. |

In reality, if you install the safety equipment properly, and don't go overboard, most will not cite you for doing it. And in reality, I would imagine 99% of the inspection stations...let alone cops, don't even know it is not a legal modification.
Just make sure you can return it to stock just in case. |
