Labor Day labor
Got a hair up my rear and decided to detail the truck and wanted to try out a ceramic wax to finish it off. Took some pics of coarse but did so before I spent 2 hrs hand buffing the Crome to a mirror finish. What truck projects did everyone else labor on today?

Re: Labor Day labor
I cleaned up my pile of tools left out after pulling the cab off mine last night.
Happy Labor Day!

Re: Labor Day labor
I went out and looked under the hood. I'm having a tough time shifting out of and into park. Guess I'm going to have to dive into uncharted waters and clean up or repair the shift linkage.

Re: Labor Day labor
I drove mine to town for the first time since May or June. Put close to 50 miles on it. This summer has been a lot more busy than I’d have liked for it to be. Haven’t had much time to play with any of my toys. My Camaro has been less than 500 miles since the end of January, that’s a real travesty.

Have you tried spraying some penetrating oil into the column around the shift lever? https://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vbo...d.php?t=810890 Is this still the same problem you were having in that thread? LockDoc

![]() As for Labor Day, I drove my truck to work. Funny how the people who are Laborers have to work the day and the non-laborers have a 3 day weekend. Oh well, such is life...

Re: Labor Day labor
Your truck looks great! I spent most of the 3 day weekend putting a motor and transmission in my 85 K20...I'm a bit sore and bruised, but it was time well spent. I get the transfer case tonight...maybe by the end of next weekend it will be mobile again!

Re: Labor Day labor
Nice truck, Excellent color. Chrome looks mint.
What did you use to polish the chrome? Is your grill OEM or aftermarket? I just scratched up a brand new bumper with Never Dull so I highly advise avoiding it on chrome. Label said it could be used on Chrome. It doesn't work that good on aluminum. In the trash it went.

I used Griots 3-n-1 ceramic wax after washing and detailing the crome with a micro fiber tower and qtips to make sure there was no water spots left on it. The ceramic wax was easy easy I applied on a micro fiber towel and then lightly rubbed in in then came back with another towel and buffed it off. Did it twice once in the morning and once again in the afternoon. Grill is repop and the rest is oem/nos |

Re: Labor Day labor
I wondered why the brakes were fading on my blue '71 Jimmy. I was about 1-1/2'' low in the front part of the Master Cylinder. Now to find out why.

Re: Labor Day labor
IK,R? If I hadn't been paying attention I could have had parts scattered all over the workbench for nothing. I wasn't looking forward to working on it. I want to rebuild or replace the engine someday but I only have the street to do it in. Of course, I've done several there, but we just got the street resurfaced and I'd hate to mess it up.
