62 4x4 Shock Help
I need some help. I need to replace the front and rear shocks on my 62 K20 and having a hard time finding any that fit. I'm hoping not to spend crazy money for them $600. Can any of you K20 guys out there let me know what you are using? Thanks

You'll need to swap out the rubber bushings. I used energy suspension hourglass ones and i believe rears need 3/4" parrt number 9.810G Just pry the original bushings out with a large flat blade and pop new ones in I did fronts same way except bushings are 5/8" and shocks are KYB KG5417 I came up with these by measuring the original spirals at full extension and full compression and matched them from the KYB specs.

Re: 62 4x4 Shock Help
I just recently bought a pair of new old stock MONROE 66833 shocks for the my 66 K20 rear off e-bay for $50 including shipping. I came up with that shock after crossing part numbers. The eyes and bushings are the right size but I have not installed them yet as the rear axle is still out of my truck. I am running stock height on my K20 and still have those massive original spring blocks, so shock length is an important consideration. For the price I couldn't pass on the shocks. When I get them installed I will post with results.

Re: 62 4x4 Shock Help
I run those same KYB numbers on a 1962 K1000 and 1960 K1500, so they should be the same.
