Lead Time from Vendors
Trying to get a feel of the aftermarket supply chain. Any crazy long lead time on products for our trucks.
Are there a lot of products on back order other than the usual?

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
Some of our vendors are 3 months from the time parts are ordered and I was just given 6 months on some wiring harnesses. Just depends on what you need the wait times vary.

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
Buy now if you want something by spring time.
It's not the vendor's fault they can't get junk from China quickly. It is their fault for selling you something that is on backorder and not telling you about it being on backorder before you make the purchase. Any vendor doing so should be boycotted, including those here that are sponsors. It's also not their fault that port workers and delivery companies have been forcing a vaccine mandate down their employees' throats, thereby causing more delays unloading ships from China and driving it to your door. |

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
Just had a truck part order canceled I was waiting for over four months. Was told several times it would ship. Another Pre-order cancelled just today after 6+ months. Over 4 months for my axle. 3+ months for my link kit. 6-7 months for shocks, lucky to find some in stock I could use and cancelled order. Tie rod ball joints, lock nuts and bungs ordered several days ago and have no idea when they will ship. Unfortunately it is probably going to get worse. At least we will have more money in our pockets and the elites will have less profit.

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
I'm still waiting on parts from last year. Every time I call they kick it another 2-3 months down the road

POL Beware
I placed an order on 8-15 (no indication that it was not in stock). After 25 days of not receiving the item I checked on the order. I was told the item would ship on 9-18, it did not. I checked again on 10-1. I was told the item would ship on 10-8, it did not. I checked again on 10-14 and was told the item would ship early this week, it did not.
By now you can see the pattern. I understand contemporary shipping issues. I do not understand me taking a joy ride inside a tin can getting kicked down the road. Just let me know from the onset the items are on backorder. I've since cancelled the order and will use my original motor mounts. |

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
The whole supply chain for anything from overseas is fouled up. The container shortages and rail and truck issues have fouled up shipping in the states. None of this is going to get better for quite some time.

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
I ordered a vintage air kit on 28 July. It was a 3 mo wait. Called again to check and it’s scheduled for 28 Nov shipment.

Re: Lead Time from Vendors
I used to see the FedEx guy daily. He came so often that he delivered something for my wife one day and without being prompted he stated, "Sorry, no truck parts today".
I'm beginning to think we are no longer friends . |
