How the heck do you get the windshield interior trim piece off? I pulled the windshield today but don’t want to tweak the trim piece, I see the little clips but how do they come out?HELP!!!!

Re: Removing dash trim?

With the windshield out of my truck i used a Brake Adjuster (like a Flat bladded screw driver with an angle on it) it had the right bend to get under the clips using the windshield
channel to pry and use as leverage to pop the clip up and out, Some were stubborn, you can try to squeeze them with a needle nose pliers maybe, but the angle flat blade of the brake adjuster worked well for me! there are eight of the clips and you can get new ones if they break.

Re: Removing dash trim?

it's really not that hard. use a stiff wide putty knife to pry out of the clips and a piece of thin plywood on the dash to pry against. obviously there's a screw on each end. the socket is fixed on the dash, the spring clip moves in the trim just like side trim of a classic car.

the oem clips are a little stiff to put it mildly. tread carefully or you'll bend the trim

Re: Removing dash trim?

Seems like some right angle needle nose pliers wold be perfect to squeeze them while prying them up. To bad I don’t have any. Oh well I’ll try again tomorrow
