Sheetmetal parts prices climbing ^ Fast !
I had a Auto metal direct lettered fleet side tailgate on my Summit watch list for the last 5 weeks or so and it was $329.00 ++ So about $370.00 with shipping and tax . 2 weeks ago I pulled it back up and the price was $369.00 ++ .I told myself it's time to order one because that's the last piece I need before paint and the price jumped $40.00 . So today I remembered to get it ordered and Now the price is $459.99 ++ so Now it's $514.38 ! shipped That's a $144.38 increase in about 5 weeks time .

Re: Sheetmetal parts prices climbing ^ Fast !
I was looking for a bench seat cover. Couldn't find one black cover in stock.
So I guess it's a sellers market. If you have one seems you can get extra for it. I am glad I am finishing up my project not starting it. Last edited by Accelo; 11-11-2021 at 01:59 PM. |

Sadly, I don't think we've seen nothing yet. If the latest word I've heard about pipeline shutdown happens we will see fuel prices at historic levels and inflation at most likely historic levels. Jimmy Carter was Einstein by comparison.

Talking about increasing prices is fine. If it gets any more political it will be closed.... Thanks, LockDoc

Re: Sheetmetal parts prices climbing ^ Fast !
The cost of shipping from overseas is to blame.

Re: Sheetmetal parts prices climbing ^ Fast !
Steel prices are double year over year and no relief in the short term. I buy sheet metal and it was .45 per lb. the first of last year and now it is .95 to 1.05. looks like it has hit the top but it is really trickling down to finish goods now.
Just some info. going to see more steel products increasing in the coming year. Thanks Russ |

Re: Sheetmetal parts prices climbing ^ Fast !
Summit does weird things from time to time with their pricing. I had a set of Hedman headers in my cart once and they went up 25% overnight- then a couple weeks later they went back down. Jegs meanwhile had the same price for them throughout.
