<----made it home alive....
And I must say I am sorry to the ppl who I was supposed to call and meet up with.
My mother in law made a turn for the worse on the 25th, (trying to beat lukimia) and we were running around so much, i didn't even think to call any of you guys. She is doing OK right now, and will start yet another round of kimo in a couple days. (they say this is the last time) other than the aformentioned, things went great. Made good time on the trip, no pesky red and blue lights in my mirrors, no mechanical problems, ect. Smooth sailing. Met some of the rudest junk yard operators, swear I will NEVER do buisness with all but one of them again. I guess they didn't want the 200 bucks in my pocket huh? (I was looking at some borderline decent sheet metal) Oh well...screw them. Santa gave me a digi-cam and made me promise not to get this one wet or let the wife take it on amusement park rides... so as soon as I empty the car tomorow, I'll be posting some pics! I'm tired...900 and some odd miles in 12 1/2 hrs...and I had to pull over to smoke. Like I had said...tail lights and tire smoke. |

eh!?!?! who the **** are you
J/k, welcome back dude. It always seems after a vacation you still got to rest. doesn't really seem like a vacation if your still tired after it all. Glad you got yourself a new digi cam. Hope your mother in law pulls through. |

welcome back home... best wishes for your mother-in-law, Iknow your wifes feeling and fears, my mother is fighting bone/liver cancer. no chemo,no treatments just pain management and a smooth transition into the life where the 67-72 are plentiful and rust free.
Glad to hear the trip was smooth. Welcome home again. Spence.

I hope things go well with the chemo, I understand where you are as I lost my Mother-in-law to lung cancer in May after she fought hard for 18 months. At least Leukaemia is one of the more survivable cancers these days. All you can do is be there for everybody when they need you. I'm sure it'll turn out OK (my mother beat breast cancer over 12 years ago and is still going strong today at 68)

Many thanks for the warm welcome backs. Her mom has been fighting the Leukaemia for over a year, and in reality, the docs told her that she had better enjoy this X-mas, becouse it will probably be her last. (hence why the entire family ended up camping out at grandma's place) After this round of very intense chemo, she will be getting one last bome marrow transfer, and then it'll be crossing our fingers and a little luck from above.
She did have a wonderfull holliday, and got to see EVERYONE in the family, great grandma (at 98 yrs old!!!) was the only one unable to make it in, but a phone call was enough. I saw family members I have not seen in over a decade, and even though this was only the second time seeing many of them, I was pleased to be treated like one of the family. I may rag on the wife and her out-law family members, but in reality, there are only a few that are not 100% genuinely awsome ppl. Alexis, you are so right on the vacation and needing to rest, but this was the first vacation I have had in almost 4 years...it was WAY over due. I'm tellin you, it's a b!tch getting up at the crack of noon! 1969 GMC, as for junk yard finds, I did see some near virgin body panels, but as I implied, he was the wors one of the bunch. All I was able to get from the one yard that I would deal with (or whom would deal with me (WTF???)) was some little odds and ends and little BS items. They'll be up for grabs on the parts board here later on today probably. (He only had one truck and it was rusted and pretty well picked over) By the way, I see my name listed in your signiture...thanks man. A good word is getting to be a little on the important side around here with the membership getting so big and all. SEVEND2... I want a full sixe pic of this if you can. I have yet to see the pics nor the deal on TV. Call me a pervert, but something about 'ole brittney with another chick.... mmmmmmmmmmm. Mrs Shade tree...hew could you not notice me missing??? :P rage'nrat638, You have no idea how sick I am of hearing the dreaded "Are we there yet". The wife started doing that playing around, and then my son saw it getting to me so he did it for pretty much the entire trip. That reminds me...I need to thank her for that. pics will be coming later. I need to D/L some stuff but not untill after we finish our X-mas stuff. Still need to go to my mom & dad's and we even have a few under the tree here. (WOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!) Rusty, you are more than welcome to swing by here, camp out, have a hot meal...what ever. (I kinda encourage travelers to swing by) with or without a fender. PM me with details when you get your details sorted. My wife can cook up a mean ass pot of beans and ham and sausage that'll make your wife hate us. (here is where the cajun thing is awsome and why I am gaining weight..the eatin is always good here) krue...(one of the guys I let down by not calling) Like I said, I am sorry about that. I was looking forward to meeting up with you, and the wife was not looking forward to truck wheels strapped to the roof all the way home. As for all the get well wishes for my mother in law, and the others who are or have seen the suffering of cancers of all types, thank you. I to have seen my mother go through the breast cancer many years ago before I knew what any of it was about, and in the 20/20 vision hind sight, I wish i would have known how big a deal it was. (I was like 7 or 8 yrs old) She pulled through with no problems at all and never looked back (that I know of). Again, thanks y'all. |
