Re: Removing spray paint off original paint
I would wet sand the spray bomb off with wet-or-dry sandpaper...as fine as your patience allows. I would start with 3000 grit and see how fast it comes off. This is as fine as I use before buffing a paint repair anyway. You will want to pay close attention to your sanding and keep it on the spray paint you want to remove. If you don't stay on the spray paint (which you will end up sanding some of the original paint around and under the spray bomb for sure) you will be removing original paint and that risks sanding through to the primer...= bad.
If the 3000 grit is trying your patience, step down to 2000 grit, but only rub that until the spray paint is really thin, but not gone...then step back to the 3000 grit. Depending on the shine/oxidation of the original paint...3000 grit may be all you need, but if not, you would then use some Fine Scratch Remover buffing compound to bring the shine back to where you want it. The sanding and the buffing should all be done by hand (no power tools). It takes time, but can be done. Hopefully your "spot' is small. Tip: I use a short piece of a paint stirring stick that is about 2.75" long with the sand paper as a sanding block. For larger, more flat surfaces...find a nice flat stirring stick. For smaller areas the need alot of attention to detail...I use a shorter piece that is cupped (not flat, but warped) and make sure the convex side of the stick is being used against the paint. Oh, circular motion is best.

Re: Removing spray paint off original paint
Guess I should have specified...it's the firewall and booster etc..
Sanding is not an option... I've tried a easy off acetone Goof Off I guess I'm more use aerosol stripper and not let it sit very long |

Re: Removing spray paint off original paint
If the booster is cad, I would use lacquer thinner on it.
I screwed up and didn't paint the top of my dash before I set my cab on the chassis. Now I have quite a masking job ahead of me.

Oven cleaner works well to remove it.

Re: Removing spray paint off original paint
Lacquer thinner and a light scotchbrite or 000, or 0000 steel wool....but you will remove paint that lies beneath it, if there is any.

Re: Removing spray paint off original paint
I used lacquer thinner and a rag to remove spray paint off of some doors. I was careful and it did not damage the original paint underneath. It could have also been really cheap spray paint that someone used.

Re: Removing spray paint off original paint
Denatured alcohol works on some spray paint.
It is not as hard on old cured paint.
