New hood

I picked up an all steel cowl induction hood for my 67. I really love the look of it but adjusting this thing has been a challenge!

Re: New hood

I've heard they don't fit well. Is that part of the challenge?

Re: New hood

It is steel and due to the cowl it is heavier than stock and may be causing issues with stock hinges. Having problems with one of mine so, I am going to bite the bullet and go with billets. Lots of $$$ though.

Re: New hood

Is it functional? If so, how have you sealed the air cleaner housing to the hood?

Front to back looks great. It's the side to side. Looks like my nose needs to shift over a bit

Re: New hood

Loosen up the fenders and core support brackets (triangle pieces between fenders and core support). That may get your gaps right with moving fenders in/out some.

I'll give that a shot. I almost wondered if loosening the bottom bolts where the core support goes through the frame and moving the whole front end over might do it. I'm used to building 55 to 59 trucks and I know that would work in that but I'm not sure about my 67
